Stitched Works
Textile, thread and mixed media
The stitched works explore ideas of repair, containment, and transformation through hand-constructed forms made from recycled textiles and found materials. Assembled though processes of cutting, ripping, layering, binding and stitching, the works occupy a space between vessel, shelter, garment, and body.
Stitching functions as both a structural and symbolic act. Traditionally associated with mending and care, it becomes a a means of holding fragments together while acknowledging traces of damage, loss, and change. The visible seams and joins reveal histories of making rather than concealing them.
Drawing upon themes of memory, belonging, and resilience, these works consider how personal and collective experiences are carried, repaired, and reassembled over time. Through acts of construction and repair, familiar materials are transformed into forms that speak to vulnerability, endurance, and the human desire to create meaning from fragments.
