Jan Blythe is a multidisciplinary artist working across sculpture, assemblage, drawing and installation. Her practice explores memory, inheritance, and belonging through the transformation of found domestic objects, textiles, wax, porcelain, and natural materials.
Drawing upon personal histories, migration narratives, ritual traditions, and relationships to place, she creates works that investigate how experience becomes embedded within material form. Through process of collecting, layering, staining, and reassembling, Blythe's work examines the traces carried by objects and landscapes and the ways they shape individual and collective memory.
